Ginna had her first ballet class today. She thought it was pretty fun. I’ll post pictures of the full dance ensemble later, but for now here are her shoes. It would be great if this classical moment in her life would teach her grace and quietness, but yet the two-year-old-ness surfaces! She would love to wrestle with her brother…I imagine pretty soon she may not have the upper hand anymore!
Today was a “stickers all over the house and people” day, aka, “Wing (my mom) sent an envelope full of stickers to Ginna.” One time she sent 401 at once!! In all seriousness, Ginna loves to get her envelopes. One never knows what will be the contents….she also got an invitation from Wing today to a Fancy Nancy Tea Party. Ginna has since been asking to go to Wing’s party.
Other news….Stan is thinking of taking up biking as a new hobby. He’s contemplating that mode of transportation for commuting to work to save gas money while getting exercise. We went to look at bikes tonight, and Ginna pointed at one and said, “Daddy needs the green one.” So glad to have one more person in this house who selects things based on such practical features!!
My June has been pretty crazy….I finish teaching online next week, and am hoping that things calm down a bit with the other projects. I’ve had very little time to think lately, which can be good and bad, I guess. Thus, pictures dominate and thoughts mostly wait for a later date!
I am so glad someone finds this sort of behavior amusing!!! It is SOOO hot here, and we don’t have A/C! Hence Jamey’s attire… I thought the heat was going to be ok, since the beginning of June was so cool, but I think July and August will be pretty hot!
Our tomato plants are growing really well. You can see Ginna trying to garden like Stan in this photo!
Stan gave Ginna the choice between some very girly pink gardening boots and these giraffes…you can see which she chose! Gardening is Stan and Ginna’s evening activity together these days.
Ginna got this George mask at a birthday party. We all are taking turns wearing it these days!
Last night, Ginna was in her room going to sleep when I heard her start screaming “I need Mommy’s elbow!” I went in her room, and she was in the rocking chair with her blanket and baby and wanted me to sit with her and put my arm around her (in her words, to be in my elbow.)
It has been a very busy week here. You can see some of the happenings below.
Ginna has been helping water every night with her little watering can. Here are some pictures. We have a long way to go with the yard, but the grass is getting greener.
We went to the Rainforest Café yesterday, one of Ginna’s favorite restaurants. She got a balloon with a monkey climbing a tree.
Here are the kids in what we call the “stroller bus.” We can walk many places from our new house….Target, the mall, the bank, etc. It’s great!
Jamey has started enjoying the exersaucer.
We finished the trim and window treatments in the living room this week. Ginna is helping find the studs! It is nice to have one room finished!
As surprising as this may be, we are trying to exercise our agricultural roots by planting a garden. We have 7 tomato plants growing and have planted seeds for squash, broccoli, carrots, cantaloupe, watermelon, onions, and pepper. We will see how things grow. Ginna is very interested in helping. I’ll post some pictures later.
I’m posting backwards, but here are some photos from the FL and AL parts of our trip. We went to Gainesville to celebrate Elizabeth’s med school graduation then went to AL to visit Stan’s family.
Ginna enjoyed lots of guacamole with Uncle Ben and Aunt Elizabeth.
Ginna and Austin loved riding his truck together!
Here’s Ginna’s first experience with an ice cream truck.
Check out these photos from our trip:
Here’s Jamey in his new chair! He loves sitting up!
Granny B and Granddad had so much fun with Ginna and Jamey.
Ginna and her cousins Sophie and Becca spent the week together. Melissa and I did the same quite often as children, so we were glad for our kids to have the same opportunity. Ginna had a great time…but she did bring back to LA some rather Southern language!
I’ve finally decided to create a blog to share the happenings of the Gray household (with Stan’s encouragement). I’ll write more about our crazy trip (to FL, AL, MS, TN, and Taiwan (Stan only on the last one). For now, here are some photos from the weekend.
Here’s my attempt to get them to pose in their outfits I made at the Gray’s.
Ginna loves her new girly fan! We got a new fan in our room, too. Ginna calls it “Daddy’s new light.” She says Mommy has a new light, too…the floodlight in the back yard!
