Story 1: Sunday, when we got home from church Ginna pulled the leftover rotel dip from the refrigerator and said, “I need game food, Mom.”

Story 2: Someone asked Ginna how old she was today. She replied, “I’m 2 and a half. When I’m 3, I go to the dentist.” (I went to the dentist last week and told Ginna she would go when she turned 3.)

Ginna loves packing the things that are most important to her in a single location. One night we were looking for the three babies she sleeps with, and we found this arrangement of things in the backyard! The suitcases hold Ginna’s clothes, and the box has the baby clothes.

Ginna is sharing a few pieces of her artwork from pre-school. This week was O week (hence the oyester, oval, and octopus).

This is Ginna’s pink and purple handprints and her octopus.

Here is her oyester.

Here is Ginna’s name in glitter!

Ginna made this house during her first week.

While Jamey and I traveling to SC this week, Stan and Ginna went on a trip to Disneyland. We are sharing some photos. Stan enjoyed spending time alone with his little girl!

Stan and Ginna went to Disney with our friends, Becky and Jason, and their son, Noah.

These are three very important parts of our bedtime routine!

This is at the Lego store in Downtown Disney.

Lee has summoned me to divulge my quirks. Here are the rules:

1. Link back to the person who tagged you.

2. Mention the rules on your blog.

3. Tell 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.

4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking to them.

5. Leave a comment for each tagged blogger they’ve been tagged.

Here are a few of my quirks:

1. When I question anything about parenting or child behavior, I go to a book I have or buy a new one to consult.

2. I don’t use mops. I don’t think they clean well. I’d rather clean floors on my hands and knees….even with an entire house of hardwood and tile!

3. I have a “form” that I print for each week that has a place for the week’s menus, scheduled chores, a place to write grocery items that need to be purchased, and a general “TO DO” list for the week.

4. I can’t stand dirty feet. As a college student, I remember washing my feet in the sink in the shared bathroom at night. Now I just use the bathtub.

5. In an attempt to choose appropriate battles (and to understand a child who pursues order and predictability AND keep Ginna safe while I buckle in Jamey), I have a rather unique “get in the car” routine. It consists of opening Jamey’s door, letting Ginna climb in, letting Ginna sit in the front passenger seat while I buckle Jamey’s seatbelt, asking Ginna if she wants to buckle the top of her seatbelt (which draws her to the backseat), buckling her in (only the bottom; she does the top), and then FINALLY getting into my own seat. Any deviation from the above results in a horrendous occassion. There are parallels in several other parts of my day…

6. I like to pick up books I’ve read in the past and read a random section.

I defintely don’t have six people to tag. I actually only read three blogs, one of which is Lee’s. I tag Robin (though I imagine she had her baby today, so she may take some time in responding) and Rachel.

We have a few more photos we’d like to share from our trip.

We saw thousands of wind mills along the way.

Ginna started school today. She has been very excited. I think she will love it….she is always asking to go somewhere and thrives on talking to people! Here are some photos of her first day.

We decided to go on a weekend trip to La Quinta Resort near Palm Springs, CA for Labor Day. It was a great weekend of lots of sun and swimming! The resort was beautiful. It was built in the 1920s and is frequented by LA folks…we met many people who live near us. There were 41 pools on the property…..the rooms were built as small “casitas” surrounding pools.

Here is Ginna, very proud of her new luggage. She packed and packed and packed for days in preparation!

Ginna enjoyed modeling these goggles (aka, “water glasses”) but did not venture under water with them! She was swimming really well and gained confidence with her swimmies!

Ginna LOVED her pink luggage. The duffle bag went everywhere we did!
